Pernod Absinthe is based on the original absinthe recipe and today returns to restore its reputation for quality and handcrafted excellence. Rich dimensional aromas of anise five spice sweet herbs and spicy meringue and follow through on a broad vibrant entry to a lightly sweet and bitter full body with a superb balance of anise herbs and an underlying creaminess. Finishes with a long lemongrass aniseed and bitter wormwood fade. Brilliantly crafted and balanced even at full strength. Tasted louched as an absinthe cocktail: Hazy peridot color. Rounded more emphasis on the herbal pleasingly bitter wormwood earthy dried herb and crushed aniseed notes. A very seriously poised and wondrous digestif. On the palate it is piquant and acidic with a fair amount of grainy spice. Herb flavors are persistent as is a pleasant tingling after each sip. Alcohol 68% by volume.
